Little boy Bo, dressed as Daphne, causes a stir

Gotta love the mom in Kansas City who allowed her 5-year-old son Bo to dress as Daphne, from the Scooby Do cartoon. If Kansas City is that progressive, we want to visit. But maybe it isn't, there has been a lot of flak now.

On her blog Nerdy Apple Bottom, (first name Sarah) she showed his photo dressed in the bright orange wig and wrote about it. Now it has gone viral, mostly because of all the haters our there who feel it was not the proper thing to do. She's been on the Today Show and CNN and now seems to be the subject of all the talk shows, we suppose an hour long sit down with Oprah is soon to be.

Was it not proper to exploit the story by the mom or was it not proper for the boy to dress as a girl? What has people upset? We think the latter.

The blog headline says: "My Son is Gay" and then goes on to say: “Or he’s not. I don’t care. He is still my son,” she wrote. “And he is 5. And I am his mother. And if you have a problem with anything mentioned above, I don’t want to know you.”

Nerdy Apple Bottom also blogged: “If you think that me allowing my son to be a female character for Halloween is somehow going to ‘make’ him gay then you are an idiot. I am not worried that your son will grow up to be an actual ninja so back off.”

The Griffin livens up NY's Meat Packing District

The Griffin Sundays is the new party in New York's Meat Packing District. Brian Rafferty and Shawn Paul Mazur are bringing the boys back to their old haunts. Party from 7 pm to 1 am. Open bar from 7 to 8 pm. Free entry.

DJ Vito is spinning. Guest hosts are Gayletter and Charles Serotoff. This is where uptown meets downtown -- 50 Gansevoort Street.

Last week was wild as Griffin Sundays celebrated Halloween. The place was packed, the hotties were in costume (and out). Kelli Tomashoff performed.

It's not too late for Palm Springs Pride, this week from November 4 to 7.

Wild West is the theme of Gay Ski Week in Aspen

Hard to believe that November is here already, but that means Aspen Gay Ski Week is that much closer.

January 16 to 23, 2011 are the dates that Aspen is overrun with hunky ski bunnies. The Wild, Wild West is the theme of the week and it includes lots of partying as well as skiing.

Snowboarding is featured on four of Colorado's top mountains. A daily apres-ski party awaits each day and there are plenty of night time events to whet your whistle.

From the Opening Cocktail party at The Hotel Jerome to the Hunter Bar dance and tapas night, it's a great way to star the year.

Last year at Vizcaya for famous White Party event

The White Party is gearing up for it's final year at Villa Vizcaya in Miami. This year the week stretches from November 24 to 29, 2010.

The major party itself is Saturday, November 27 from 6:30 to 11:30 pm. General admission tix are $150.00 each.

Featured througout the week. The Welcome Center opens Wednesday, November 24 at noon. The White Heat party is at the MOVA lounge, that night from 9 pm to 3 am. Dolce, a woman's event is from 10 pm to 3 am, the same day at Bar 721.

This year, there is a special shopping day set aside, the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 26, billed as "White Friday" rather than the traditional "Black Friday," it will be an added feature not done before. Specials and deals will be available for all White Friday participants.
